Cleaning quotes are all over the map because most companies price by the hour, by the room, or by a phone call that ends in “it depends.” Here is what Rhode Island homeowners actually pay — from Providence and Warwick down to Newport — what moves the price, and how our flat per-visit pricing works so you can compare apples to apples.
The short answer
For a standard recurring clean of an average Rhode Island home (three bedrooms, two bathrooms, about 1,600 square feet), expect $180 to $320 per visit from an established company, and $120 to $200 from an independent cleaner. Deep cleans run roughly 1.5 to 2 times a standard clean. Move-out cleans are the most expensive category because every cabinet, appliance and closet gets done.
- Studio or 1-bedroom apartment: $100–$180 per standard clean
- 2-bedroom home: $150–$250
- 3-bedroom, 2-bath home: $200–$320
- 4+ bedrooms: $280–$450
- Deep clean: add 50–100% to the standard price
- Move-in / move-out clean: $250–$600 depending on size and condition
Hourly versus flat pricing
Independent cleaners in Rhode Island typically charge $25 to $45 per hour per person; companies charge $50 to $90 per cleaner-hour once background checks, supplies, scheduling and payroll are included. The catch with hourly billing is that you don't know the total until the cleaner leaves, and a slower cleaner costs you more.
We price cleaning as a flat rate per visit. We estimate the time your home takes from the number of bedrooms and bathrooms (and square footage if you share it), price it at $70 per cleaner-hour, and lock that number before anyone shows up. If the job runs long, that's on us.
What our flat prices look like
These are one-time prices from our quote engine; recurring visits are discounted because a maintained home takes less time.
- 1 bed / 1 bath home cleaning: from $170 per visit
- 2 bed / 1 bath: about $205 one-time, $175 every two weeks
- 3 bed / 2 bath: about $275 one-time, $235 every two weeks, $220 weekly
- 3 bed / 2 bath deep clean: about $345
- 3 bed / 2 bath move-out clean: about $380
Every quote is built the same way in the instant quote tool, so you can change bedrooms, bathrooms or frequency and watch the price move.
What pushes a quote up
- Bathrooms. They take the longest per square foot, so a 2-bed/3-bath costs more than a 3-bed/2-bath.
- First visits. The first clean of a home that hasn't been professionally cleaned in a while is usually a deep clean.
- Clutter. Cleaners work around what's on the counters and floors; clear surfaces mean more actual cleaning per hour.
- Pets. Fur and dander add vacuuming and dusting time. Tell us in the quote notes.
- Older homes. Rhode Island has some of the oldest housing in the country — radiators, plaster walls, wood trim and lots of small rooms all take longer to dust and wipe than an open-plan new build.
- Inside appliances, windows, and walls. These are deep-clean items, not standard-clean items.
How to pay less
- Go recurring. Weekly visits are 20% off, every-two-weeks 15% off, monthly 10% off — and each visit is faster because the home never gets far from clean.
- Declutter before the visit. Ten minutes of tidying can save half an hour of billable work in an hourly model, and keeps flat-rate quotes accurate.
- Book the first clean as a deep clean, then maintain. It's cheaper than repeated “standard” cleans that never quite catch up.
- Use a first-visit offer. New customers get 20% off with code FRESH20.
Tipping
Tipping is appreciated but never expected. Customers who tip usually give $10 to $20 per cleaner for a standard visit, or 10–15% for a deep or move-out clean. If the same pro comes every time, a holiday tip is a kind gesture.
Frequently asked
Is a flat price really cheaper than hourly?
Not always cheaper, but always predictable. Our flat price is based on the time an average home of your size takes at $70 per cleaner-hour. If your home is faster than average you may pay slightly more than an hourly bill; if it's slower, you pay less. Most people prefer knowing the number in advance.
Do I need to be home?
No. Many customers leave a key, a lockbox code or a smart-lock code in the quote notes. Your pro confirms arrival and completion by text or email.
Are supplies included?
Yes. Pros bring professional products and equipment. If you prefer your own products, or need fragrance-free or eco products, say so in the notes.
